Youth Essay Contest Program

About the Program
The objective of the Chisago County Sheriff's Office Youth Essay Contest Program is to reach out and educate students about the role law enforcement plays in their lives and community.

6th grade students, who live in Chisago County, are invited to become law enforcement officers in an "If I Were Sheriff, I Would. . ." Essay Contest! Parents, teachers, and community members are asked to encourage 6th graders, to participate in the essay contest, which includes home schooled and private school students. View the program flyer.

The contest rules are simple! Every essay must begin with the sentence, "If I were sheriff, I would" and not be longer than 350 words; it can be either typed or handwritten, but must be legible and have the student's name and school on it.
