Voting & Election Information

The Auditor's office administers the county functions of Federal, State and Local elections. This process involves registration of voters; candidate filings; ballot layout; electronic tabulation programming; election judges training; absentee voting administration; election day signature rosters; election night results; abstracts; maintaining voter history and administering county recounts. This office is a resource to cities, townships and school districts in the election process.

When are elections?

  • Township elections are held annually on the second Tuesday in March with the exception of Nessel & Lent Townships, which holds their election during the general election in November.
  • Federal, state, and city elections are held every two years.
  • Primary Elections are the second Tuesday in August.
    • 2016 Primary Election:  Tuesday August 9, 2016
  • General Elections are on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
    • 2016 General Election:  Tuesday November 8, 2016
